Approval and approval requests
Approvals represent the task manager’s assessment of one’s work towards completing a task. The manager reviews the work, and can either accept it, reject it, or send it back for modification.
Request approval
In order to request approval for your work, you need to go to the top of the Task Drawer and click on Request approval.
This will prompt you with a form, consisting of a text area for adding optional comments to your request and the Send request button. The form also shows you the person the request will be sent to.
Once you click Send request, the top of the task drawer should look like this:
The request will also appear in the comment section.
:::note NOTE: Currently, you can’t send attachments with your approval request, so there is no way to send your work alongside the request. One workaround would be to attach your work to the task description or as a comment. :::
To do so, you need to follow these steps:
- Click on the
icon at the bottom of the task drawer. - You will be prompted with two options: To either paste a file from your clipboard or to add one that’s been saved on your computer, which will open the file browser.
- Select the file and click Open. The file should appear at the bottom of the task drawer. The “secret” third option is to drag and drop your file onto the “Paperclip” icon.
Approve, reject, or Request changes
Approving a request is extremely simple: once one of the task members has made an approval request, that request will show up in your email inbox. The email will provide you with the name of the task, its priority status, as well as a choice on how to respond to that request.
The options are as follows:
- Approve
- Reject
- Request changes
