Assigning members
The key to any smooth-running organization is the proper delegation of responsibilities. Fortunately, TaskManager offers an easy way to delegate these responsibilities.
In TaskManager, there are three classes of members:
- task managers; when you create a task, you automatically become its manager.
- assignees, the users who are expected to carry out the task.
- observers, users who are to be informed on the task progress.
Assignees can see all their tasks across different projects by clicking the My Tasks
link on the sidebar.
Quick Assignments
When you create a task using the Not Assigned
button and a
dropdown will show all project members, allowing you to choose the assignee.
If you create the task from the main area by clicking on the Add Task
button, the task will be initially not assigned. Click on the assignee icon and the same dropdown with
project members will show, allowing you to make the assignment.
Managing members from the task drawer
In the image above you can see the expandable in its default, collapsed form. It provides compact information about who
is the manager of the task, who is assigned to work on the task, and who is merely observing. On desktop, you can remove
a member by hovering on its avatar (profile picture) and clicking the ×
icon. On mobile, you’ll need to first expand
the section.
Click on the title to expand the section and see the manager, assignees, and observers.
